Edelman 2021 Trust Barometer
Please join us as we welcome Russell Dubner, President & CEO of Edelman U.S., and Christie Bishop, Executive Vice President of Integrated Brand Marketing, as they present the 2021 Edelman Trust Barometer. The presentation will cover how consumer trust in societal institutions and leaders has declined in the past year due to the rise and spread of misinformation. A failing trust ecosystem leaves four institutions – business, government, NGOS and media – with an opportunity and an obligation to step in and repair this trust. Learn why this is important and how HVCB membership can address these issues across its priority markets: U.S., S. Korea, Japan, Australia and Canada.

Ocean Conservation and Reef Safe Sunscreen
Coral reefs represent the backbone of Hawaii's ocean ecosystem. Critically important to providing food, coastal protection, marine recreation opportunities, and healthy marine ecosystems, Hawaii's reefs face numerous impacts and threats. In recent years, scientists have focused on the harmful impacts of sunscreen to coral reefs. In an effort to curb these impacts, Hawaii passed landmark legislation in 2019 banning certain chemicals commonly found in sunscreens. These chemicals have been linked to coral disease and death. This webinar will review Hawaii's sunscreen legislation as it relates to businesses, provide best practices for sun protection, and help your business make the most environmentally conscious decision when it comes to sun protection for your guests.
Presented by Lauren Blickley, marine biologist, on behalf of the Sustainable Tourism Association of Hawaii.

Sustainability for Tourism Businesses
Insights to the Meetings Industry as it Works Toward Recovery
Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Northstar Meetings Group’s PULSE survey has assessed the changing circumstances, needs and plans of planners and event organizers all all types, from around the world. Northstar’s data has provided valuable insights to the meetings industry as it works toward recovery. Have the increases in cases over the last several weeks in various states changed plans and priorities? When do planners and event organizers expect to get back to business, and what will that look like? Are there different expectations for events, based on their locations, size and type? This timely session reported on the very latest PULSE survey results, aggregated and analyzed just prior to the webinar.
Also on this webinar, John Reyes, Senior Vice President and Chief MCI Sales Officer, and Mary Neister, Vice President, Global MCI and Statewide Hotel Sales, provided an update on what is happening in the single property and city wide meetings space for the rest of 2020 and into 2021. They brought content that can help shape your decisions and shared information on an innovative approach to bring planners to your doors this fall (who will look to book 2021 and beyond). In alliance with HVCB’s media partners, two tech solutions have been created that will make connections and generate leads.
