Office of Economic Revitalization Funding Reduced
The Honolulu City Council voted to override Mayor Rick Blangiardi’s veto and uphold reductions to funding for the City and County of Honolulu’s Office of Economic Revitalization (OER). OER will continue to operate under the adopted budget with reduced funding and increased oversight. Council members cited accountability and governance concerns, while supporters highlighted OER’s role in supporting economic development, small businesses, and community resilience initiatives across Oʻahu.
