The populary monthly village stroll on Aliʻi Drive, when Aliʻi Drive transforms to a festive, pedestrian-only outdoor marketplace that makes for a fun family-friedly day. Kōkua Kailua stretches from Kailua Pier through Historic Kailua Village to Hualālai Road. July 20, August 17, September 21, October 19, November 16, and December 7 (Kailua Kalikimaka).

Hoʻokuʻikahi - Establishment Day Hawaiian Cultural Festival at Puʻukoholā Heiau
Cultural protocol, workshops, and demonstrations. The weather in Kawaihae is typically dry and humid, so bring reef-safe sunscreen, wear comfortable clothing, and bring your own drinking water/lunch/refreshments if you are planning to stay for the day.

AgriTourism FAM
In collaboration with GoFarm Hawaiʻi - University of Hawaiʻi and the County of Hawaiʻi, this program was initiated following the 2024 Global Regenerative Agritourism Symposium held in Vanuatu. Attendees represented the County of Hawaiʻi , tourism, agriculture, education, and Chef Robert Oliver of Pacific Island Food Revolution (PIFR) . The program included island-wide visits to 15 family owned or local-community based businesses, 10 farms, two food hubs, one food cooperative, and four educational-schooling agricultural programs. Focus was placed on the trending concept of culture experienced through the lens of native and indigenous food, farming, and community, as well as the importance of food health and sustainability. This program has opened the doors to new agritourism partnerships and future collaborative opportunities. ??
MAY 10-13
Hawai’i County Japan Trip
The Hawai’i County sent a delegation of Holeka Inaba-County Council Chair, Benson Medina-R & D Director, and Mayor’s Executive Assistant-Malia Louis to Tokyo Japan along with HTA Board Chair Todd Apo and Hawai’i Tourism Japan to attend the Hawai’i Expo and meet with airlines and wholesalers. Based on those meetings we are looking forward to welcoming back Japan Airlines to Kona with the route from Narita to Kona starting in the summer of 2026.
