I Mua Hawaii - A digital event to promote and sell Hawaii to MCI customers

Meet Hawaii and 14 of its members participated in Hawaii’s first ever digital tradeshow I MUA HAWAII.

The name I MUA HAWAII was chosen for its translation of Hawaii Forward. Hawaii Forward was the goal and purpose of promoting and selling Hawaii to established and new Meeting, Convention & Incentive (MCI) customers. It was also serendipitous that the date of I MUA HAWAII was Thursday, October 15 the same day Hawaii welcomed back visitors to our Islands. Over 120 attendees participated in the digital event and in between two appointment sessions were engaged with two center stage presentations, one with DeWitt Jones National Geographic award winning photo journalist on “What is Right With the World” and the launch of The New Hawaii MCI Blueprint which aggregates key information MCI customers need to know with COVID-19 protocols.

More importantly it was the opportunity to connect Hawaii suppliers with MCI customers in a time where face to face meetings are restrictive and challenging. Diana Kamper out of Arizona and with AMEX said “Aloha it was so great to see and catch up with Hawaii suppliers! I loved the tradeshow and getting to see all the smiling partner faces. It’s been way too long. I’ll continue to keep in touch, and fingers crossed for more programs together! Mahalo nui loa.” The ROI generated from I MUA HAWAII will be in the potential lead opportunities generated by being able to connect with MCI customers in a creative and innovative platform.

As was noted by many participants Meet Hawaii’s I MUA Hawaii Virtual Tradeshow attracted quality meeting planners. The best opportunity was meeting with customers who have future business for Hawaii! COVID has made it much more difficult to reach planners with the challenges that the pandemic has brought. But the virtual tradeshow provided a platform to get in front of many customers. It was a great “win” for all who participated. Eve Schmitt, President Eden- Meeting & Events San Francisco said “I was very impressed with the virtual tradeshow and the amount of information provided to the attendees. Meet Hawaii did great job.”
