1. Tourism
is the state's largest economic engine.
In 2004, visitor counts totaled 6.9 million, contributing over $10.3 billion in statewide revenue. Tourism plays an essential role in all levels of Hawaii's economy and is everybody's business. Support it, benefit from it.

- Who is the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB)?
Together, HVCB Central and its Island Chapters (Kauai, Oahu, Maui and Big Island Visitor Bureaus) are the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau. As a private, non-profit (501-C-6), member-based Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), HVCB is truly a public-private partnership:
1. We are contracted by the Hawaii Tourism Authority to market the Islands of Aloha to the North America (US & Canada) leisure market and the Corporate Meetings & Incentives market globally.
2. We are a marketing organization with visitor-industry
and general business representation
3. We also receive government funding
4. We have Island Chapters which promote the
interests of the individual counties
5. We have specialized divisions which focus
on vertically integrated areas of expertise.
We:
1. Promote leisure and business travel, including
corporate meetings and incentive groups
2. Act as a catalyst for improving
and expanding Hawaii's wide-ranging product
offerings and experiences, while creating economic
opportunities through tourism

State of Hawaii, the mission of the Hawaii Visitors
and Convention Bureau is to create sustainable,
diversified, global, leisure and business travel
demand for the Hawaiian Islands.
