team reunites with the O‘ahu Destination Specialists, focuses on the family
market and works with BBC Holiday.

Destination Specialist Reunion and Oahu's First
Shopping and Spa Gala The
OVB Sales Team welcomes 57 ODS partners from across
the U.S. to the 2nd Annual O‘ahu Destination Specialist
Conference happening from September 12-17, 2003.
The focus of this year's conference is aligning our
ODS partners destination knowledge and sales skills
with the potential of the romance and family market.
Thirty of the mainland visitor industry's top female partners will join OVB in
the
first "O‘ahu Shopping & Spa Gala" scheduled for September 9-14, 2003. During
this, time, OVB will work to cement its relationships with these key partners
and to recognize them for their outstanding commitment in conjunction with our
efforts to marketing O‘ahu.

OVB Japan Team Shares Aloha with Families at Tokyo Summer Land
During
September, the OVB's Japan team, in partnership with
LocoMoco Sunset is hosting "E ‘Ohana Kakou,
("We Are
Family"), a consumer event at Tokyo Summer Land.
The event targets the family market and over 10,000
people
are expected to attend. The Polynesian Cultural Center
and IMUA are special guests and will be performing
on the Hawai‘i stage, and lei making, quilt, ukulele
and hula lessons will be offered.
The next OVB media gathering is set to take place on September 17 at the Hawai‘i
Convention Center, bringing together local media, production
companies, freelance writers and coordinators to exchange
information. Guest speakers from the State and Honolulu
Film offices are set to give updates.

OVB Supports The Arts
OVB is excited at working with the Arts with Aloha in supporting an arts and
culture press trip. The press trip, entitled "Oahu Arts Unveiled: A Mosaic
of Cultural Diversity" is scheduled from September 21-25, and plans to attract
up to 10 writers. The goal is to showcase O‘ahu as a viable arts and cultural
destination. Simultaneously, OVB, along with partners, will be promoting
the arts this fall through cooperative advertising efforts.
A family themed OVB press trip is currently scheduled for the fourth quarter.

OVB Reaches Key European Markets with Fall Marketing Activities
For
the UK markets, the OVB Marketing Team assisted BBC
Holiday, UK's top travel show, with their itinerary
and hotel accommodations. From August 28-30, 2003,
BBC Holiday filmed the Island of O‘ahu which will be
featured, along with Australia and Fiji, in a 15-minute
segment for a prime-time weekday evening program that
receives up to 9 million viewers called "Round the
World with Simon Calder."
In Germany, OVB's promotion with Trader Vic’s and CANUSA continues with much
positive sales response. The month of September will end the promotion, (which
began at the end of June) by designating September as an "O‘ahu
Beach Month" at Trader Vic's. A special press event is scheduled for September
25th.
OVB's European sales effort takes OVB to Switzerland for a sales blitz in September.
OVB will be training qualified Skytours agents on selling O‘ahu in Lucerne, Bern
and Zurich from September 10-11. 95 Swiss agents are expected to participate.
